The Eighth Day
A downloadable game for Windows and macOS
NOTE: A known bug makes the manual update a day too late, which leads to color commands being unknown to players.
The codes to color sprites are as follow:
YELLOW: gld
PINK: qty
BLUE: sky
GREEN: sea
PURPLE: grp
RED: dmn
size commands are as follows:
LARGER: bg
SMALLER: sm
these commands must be proceeded by the part identifier.
e.g: ‘h gld’ to make your previously placed head yellow.
I also want to write a blurb about the manual:
Part codes are often multi-character. For each part section (e.g. “HEADS”) the first character of all parts appears on the first page of that second. The second character is on the second page. if it’s a single character command, it will not appear on the second page.
I uploaded a version, https://noneme.itch.io/the-eighth-day-unrated, if you are having fun and would like to play the best version! Again, please do not let this new uploaded version change your rating. I just wanted people to have access to these quick bug fixes if they liked our game :) Thanks!
God has thrown an absolute rager in Heaven to celebrate His seven days of creation. As the new production line undermanager of Heaven Industries, you begin receiving some very strange work orders for new creations on The Eighth Day. You must fill out these work orders with increasing urgency by slapping different body parts and modifications on these horrific creations using your divine operating surface (DOS), all while learning on the job from your very own Employee Manual and preventing Satan from meddling with production efforts.
Our game has a tutorial, but one thing I noticed by watching streamers is that we didn't make it immediately clear how the 'add part' command is structured.
Each part type (arm/leg/chest/head) has a few manual pages. The first page is the first character of the codes for those parts. Second page, second character.
e.g.
`h mm` for burger head
`al bt` for trex arm
or `c o` for donut chest
